Band beraliran metal ini berasal dari Wales, di bentuk pada tahun 1998 bernama awal Jeff Killed John. Sekarang band ini beranggotakan 4 personil yaitu: Matt Tuck (Lead Vocal, Rhytem Gitar) Michael Paget(Lead Gitar, Backing Vocal) Jason James(Bass Gitar, Scream Vocal) Michael Tomas(Drum).

Saya sangat suka band satu ini, berawal dari

teman saya yang mempunyai koleksi tembang-tembang BFMV saya mencoba mendengarkanya karena aliran heavy metal ini sangat jarang saya temukan di band-band asal indonesia, lagu pertama yang saya dengarkan adalah “suffocating under words of sorrow” dan saya langsung tertarik mendengarnya, padahal saya sebenarnya lebih suka mendengarkan lagu- lagu metal ballad atau slow rock tetapi untuk yang satu ini jelas berbeda.

Lirik yang dibuat dengan sepenuh hati di tambah dengan kolaborasi yang apik menjadikan band ini salah satu favorit saya, bahkan band ini bisa menjadi pesaing band-band besar seperti ”Avenged Seven Fold” dan lainya. Sedikit diwarnai punk dari sang backing vokal tetapi diimbangi oleh vokalis aslinya menjadikan melodi yang bergantian dan tidak membosankan.

Serta permainan alat musik kelas atas dan gahar menjadikan lagu-lagu seperti “Your Tears Don’t Fall” yang sebenarnya menyedihkan dan penuh roman-roman cinta menjadi nikmat untuk didengarkan.

Lagu-lagu yang saya sarankan bagi pendengar awam adalah seperti “Your Tears Don’t Fall”,”10 Years Today”,”Heart Burst Into Fire”,”All These Thing I Hate”,”Your Betrayal” dan mempunyai sebuah instrumental berjudul “Intro” yang mempunyai melodi yang sangat bagus menurut saya.

Disamping itu band ini juga tidak meninggalkan aliran utamanya, lagu-lagu seperti “Waking The Demon”,”Hand of Blood” mewarnai di setiap album yang di releasenya.

Bullet For My Valentine atau disingkat BFMV ini sekelompok band metalcore asal Bridgend, Wales. Band ini dibentuk oleh empat mahasiswa disebuah studio musik di kampus mereka Bridgend College dengan nama awal Jeff Killed John sebelum menjadi Bullet For My Valentine pada tahun 1998 silam. Sebelum terkenalnya band ini, Matthew Tuck dan kawan-kawan sering mengcover lagu-lagu dari band Metallica dan Nirvana.

Selama band ini bernama Jeff Killed John, band ini telah merilis enam single lagu dua diantaranya dikerjakan ulang dengan nama Bullet For My Valentine. Kesulitan financial band inipun berganti nama menjadi Bullet For My Valentine sekaligus mengubah alur musik yang sebelumnya dilakukan. Dan pada tahun 2002 mereka diikat kontrak oleh sebuah rekaman Sony BMG. Bullet For My Valentine sendiri dipengaruhi oleh band-band metal klasik seperti, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Slayer dan band ini merupakan scene musik Cardiff.

BFMV memulai debut albumnya di dunia musik internasional dengan albumnya yang berjudul 'Poison' yang dirilis pada 3 Oktober 2005 di Inggris, dan pada 14 Februari 2006 di Amerika Serikat yang bertepatan dengan hari Valentine. Album ini sendiri masuk dalam Billboard 200 di Amerika Serikat dengan urutan ke-128 dan bersertifikat Gold oleh asosiasi industri rekaman di Amerika Serikat. Untuk album selanjutnya dirilis pada tanggal 29 Januari 2008 dengan berjudul 'Scream Aim Fire' masuk dalam urutan nomor emapt di Billboard 200. Sedangkan untuk album ketiganya 'Fever' dirilis pada tanggal 26 April 2010 kembali masuk dalam urutan nomor tiga di Billboard 200. Dan yang terakhir album keempatnya 'Temper Temper' mampu memuncak di urutan nomor tiga belas di Billboard Amerika Serikat.

Bullet For My Valentine sendiri telah menjual dari satu album lebih dari 3 juta album copy diseluruh penjuru dunia. Sesuatu tindakan yang paling sukses untuk band sekelas metalcore ini, dan ditambah BFMV ini menyabet gelar di ajang Kerrang! Awards dengan Best British Band dan tiga kemenangan lainnya. Bahwa dari semua itu, Bullet For My Valentine patut diacungkan dua jempol atas karya-karyanya yang begitu fantastic, berikut daftar sepuluh lagu terbaik milik Bullet For My Valentine, dan berikut dibawah ini lagu kesepuluh tersebut.
